Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
Ask the Tropers is for:
- • General questions about the wiki, how it works, and how to do things.
- • Reports of problems with wiki articles, or requests for help with wiki articles.
- • Reports of misbehavior or abuse by other tropers.

open Maybe a bot? Web Original
Some guy has been posting links that are completely irrelevant to the topic at hand in the reviews section: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/review_comments.php?id=8416#listend I suspect that they may just be doing it as a joke, not because they are bots, but still, I don't know if that stuff should be in the comments.
open Should this YTP deserve a page? Web Original
I found a YTP entitled "Mashed Bandicoot"(and it's in 2 parts), and I was wondering...does it deserve a page of it's own? It has a storyline aswell. Part 1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YdSBrTmhso8 Part 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ayD2C0BY0I4
open Why was the page for Stormfront cut? Web Original
The reason given on the page is that "we're not about troping neo-nazis," but we seem perfectly fine troping about actual nazis and other hate groups, so what makes Stormfront any different? Shouldn't we have the intellectual courage to document and discuss controversial and uncomfortable subjects?
Edited by RyonneopenSustable index for a web original. Web Original
I made my first page (for a youtube show named Wonder Quest) and I have no idea what index to put it in. Any suggestions?
openjabberwocky1996 Web Original
jabberwocky1996 created The Ultimate Ed Chronicles on the 17th but didn’t index the page. I sent them an issue helper message, but got back a rather non-sequitur response (“I think I may have put the trope in the wrong place. My bad.”) and they still haven’t indexed the page. Also looking over the page and its sub-pages, I think some of the examples they’ve put are either being misused or are Zero Context Examples.
openCan we give the =3 funny page some love? Web Original
I noticed that most of the things on the funny page for =3 weren't even on Equals Three. I was wondering if someone could help me compile some good moments to put on there. I already started adding some things, but I'm not gonna rewatch all of them. I'm just one man.
openMoment Subpages Web Original
Could I start Awesome and Funny pages for Creator.Sam And Mickey if I only pick scenes from their videos?
openWhy do my DMOS get removed? Web Original
Someone keeps removing my DMOS insisting Critic "doesn't hate anime." This is the SECOND time they've done this. It is my opinion that he does indeed hate anime. What do I do about it?
openRoleplay/Guroboards Web Original
The page for Guroboards is... I don't even know. It outright says that it wasn't meant to be seen by anyone and that's why it's not cross-wicked at all or indexed (which is, as far as I know, going against the whole point of putting it on the main wiki instead of sandbox or darth), and is generally just a giant, weirdly informal mess.
I don't know what to do with it, except maybe cut it. It doesn't seem salvageable.
Edited by OrbitingopenIndentation vandalism Web Original
Kimarous just deleted a bunch of indentation markers on WMG.Dragon Ball Z Abridged with no explanation.
openStrangeness with SCP Foundation examples Web Original
For some reason, when people add a Wiki Word to SCP Foundation in trope examples, they often also add a wick to Characters.SCP Foundation next to it.
There are also a couple of cases of people linking to subpages for a specific number range, such as including a link to Characters.SCP Foundation SC Ps 300 To 999 in Vampiric Draining's "Other Sites" folder.
Is this okay? I don't think it's necessary to link to a work's characters page when adding an example.
Edited by SomeonemanopenMild Edit War Web Original
Edit war here. To specify, Alchorative has been cleaning up this page and its main page, but also made some less-than-good cuts. I mentioned this in a Forum thread that he participated in, made a discussion post inviting further discussion, and restored the example.
Then they redeleted it with the same (incorrect) reasoning without going to the discussion or anything.
openNext Step after Splitting a Page Web Original
I recently split Rifftrax Shorts And Live Shows into two separate pages due to length, becoming RiffTrax — Shorts and RiffTrax — Live Shows in the process. Though I submitted the original page to the Cut List for removal, that request ended up being denied. Would it be better to put a redirect back to the Rifftrax index on the original page or just leave it alone?
openChanging a Work's Page Title While Keeping the Namespace Web Original
I want to change the title at the top of the Ranma ½ Abridged page, from "Webvideo/Ranma One Half Abridged" to "Webvideo/Ranma ½ Abridged". It would look a lot neater. However, for the obvious reason that having a slash in a url creates trouble, it can't just be migrated to a new page with a url like tvtropes.org/pmwiki...[etc]...Webvideo/Ranma½. I'm not even sure that's possible. So in other words, I'm asking how to have the title at the top of the page as "Webvideo/ Ranma ½ Abridged" while keeping the same url/namespace of "Web Video/ Ranma One Half Abridged". In the same way as the source material's page is Manga/ Ranma One Half but the title at the top of the page is "Manga/ Ranma ½". Couldn't find anything on the administrivia pages that explain how to do this. Any help?
Edited by MythrosopenAttempting to avoid an Edit War Web Original
I've encountered a problem at this DEATH BATTLE! subpage page. There's a particular user by the name "howtobeme" who has removed the same entry three times in the past four days, with no rationale. I've attempted to contact him after reinstating the entry in the past two days but have had no luck doing so. It's clear that any further attempts to reinstate the entry is futile, and I'm trying to avoid an Edit War. I'm new to the whole administrative side of TV Tropes (despite being around for a few years I've only ever really delved into the articles minus a couple Discussion threads) and since I couldn't find the "Report a Problem" button for the life of me and it mentioned to try here instead, this is my attempt to seek help on the matter.
Thank you!

The Review Team doesn't seem to exist. There isn't even a link. I looked up everything, and no evidence for their existence was found.
